Walter Onnoghen, the sacked Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), caused quite a stir at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Thursday with a remark just before the commencement of the judgment that caught everyone’s attention. The tribunal found him guilty of false declaration of assets in breach of the provisions of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) for public officials. Moments before then, though, Onnoghen, sat in the front row, smiled as numerous photojournalists beamed their cameras on him. However, when he noticed a particular journalist was bending down while taking his shots, Onnoghen jokingly asked him: “I hope you are not taking my pants.” It was a remark that sent many in the court into fits of laughter before a policeman came to drive the journalists away. A Nigerian national living with an expired visa has been nabbed with crystal meth from northeast Delhi during a midnight raid. On further inspection, the teams also recovered cocaine from the accused, Ikenna’s house. He was arrested with 10 grams of crystal meth brought from Mumbai. Why we’ve not released any result yet, JAMB says, as 1.2m candidates sit UTME so far .The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has not released any result relating to the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. It said this was because the Board was still screening the results due to certain issues surrounding the examination. The exam body said that, so far, over 1.2 million candidates have written the 2019 UTME. It also said it would ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the examination. The Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Bwari. He said that as of April 13, over 1.2 million have successfully written the examination scheduled to end April 17. A Honda Accord car belonging to a worker at the National Assembly was stolen from the premises during work hours on Friday. The victim, Mr Mathias Obaje, of the Legislative Scrutiny Department, Directorate of the House of Representatives, narrated his ordeal to Northern City News on the telephone on Saturday. Stratolaunch lifted off from the Mojave Air and Space Port in the California desert (AFP) Stratolaunch, the massive aircraft dreamed up by the late Paul Allen, flew for the first time Saturday, becoming the largest plane by wingspan ever to take to the skies. Larger than Howard Hughes's Spruce Goose - which flew only once, in 1947 - Stratolaunch lifted off from the Mojave Air and Space Port in the California desert and stayed aloft for a couple of hours, according to photos and videos posted on social media. The plane is a behemoth, with a twin fuselage, 28 wheels, six 747 jet engines and a wingspan longer than a football field, end zones included. But Allen, the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft, died in October, leaving the future of the plane and the company behind it in doubt. From the beginning, Allen's dream was to use the plane to help make getting items, and possibly people, into space more affordable and accessible.
