Manchester United complete record signing of Leicester City's Harry Maguire in £ 80 m move (photos)




Manchester United, the Premier League club, completed Harry Maguire's record signing in a £ 80 m move from Leicester City, making him the world's most costly defender.

England's 26-year-old international put pen to paper for another 12 months on a six-year agreement with the option. The amount of the deal is up to £ 200,000 a week.

 Maguire informed the official website of the club:' I'm happy to sign for this excellent club. I had a great time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone in the club and the fans for their wonderful assistance over the previous two seasons. However, it's an amazing chance when Manchester United comes knocking at your door.

I'm enthusiastic about the vision and plans he has for the team from my discussions with the director. Clearly, Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) is building a trophy winning team. Now I'm looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and starting the season.' Solskjaer added:' Harry is one of the game's greatest center-backs today and I'm happy that we've secured his signature. 

He's a great game reader and has a powerful presence on the pitch, with the capacity to stay calm under pressure-coupled with his composure on the ball and a enormous presence in both boxes-I can see that he's going to fit well into this group on and off the pitch.

 He's got a wonderful character and he's a good addition to the club.

I would like to welcome Harry to Manchester United and we look forward to working with him as we work for the new season.' Harry Maguire, who made 76 appearances for the Foxes following his arrival in the summer of 2017 from Hull City, scored five objectives for the club.

Wayne Rooney has signed a deal for 18 months to become DC United player coach at Derby County. Jamb Speaks On Releasing Results-

Why we’ve not released any result yet, JAMB says, as 1.2m candidates sit UTME so far .The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has not released any result relating to the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. It said this was because the Board was still screening the results due to certain issues surrounding the examination. The exam body said that, so far, over 1.2 million candidates have written the 2019 UTME. It also said it would ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the examination. The Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Bwari. He said that as of April 13, over 1.2 million have successfully written the examination scheduled to end April 17. We have reports that over 1.8 million candidates are expected to sit for the Board’s UTME that commenced nationwide on April 11. Breaking: Sen. Ademola Adeleke loses as Supreme Court upholds Oyetola as Osun state governor

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Gboyega Adetola as the governor elect of Osun state. PDP candidate in the election, Ademola Adeleke, an Uncle of singer Davido, was dissatisfied with the result announced by INEC after the election which held in September 2018 and filed a petition at the tribunal. The tribunal in a ruling delivered in March, declared Adeleke winner of the election in March. Gboyega appealed the verdict at the Court of Appeal In May, the appeal court gave judgement in favour of the APC candidate.  Adeleke then filed an appeal at the Supreme court. Delivering judgement this morning, five of the seven judges on the panel were in favour of Oyetola, leaving Adeleke with just two.
