Suspected thieves who hang around ATMs to monitor bank customers and rob them afterwards are arrested in Ogun state












The Ogun state police command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, 30-year-old Ebenezer Olubukola and Olajide Oladejo, 29, who specialize in lurking around Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cash points to monitor withdrawals made and thereafter, move to dispossess their targeted victims, mostly those who make heavy withdrawals.



The suspects were arrested on June 19th while trying to steal from their next victim at Sango.



Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said




"Their mode of operations is to lurk around banks, to observe those making substantial withdrawals and trace such person(s) with their stand-by motorcycle to a convenient area before dispossessing them of the money.



Items recovered from the suspects include a locally-made pistol and five live cartridges, as well as a Bajaj motorcycle marked AKM 490 WT.
