Ruthless USA break FIFA World Cup record after beating hapless Thailand 13 - 0

Defending champions of the World cup, United States have set a new FIFA World Cup record in France after thrashing Thailand 13-0 in their Group F match in Reims on Tuesday.


The match was Thailand's heaviest defeat in World Cup history.


The US scored 10 times in the opening 32 minutes, another four in a 10-minute period in the second half before an additional six goals in the closing 16 minutes to record the largest victory in a World Cup. Before yesterday's game, United States' previous biggest win in the tournament was a 7-0 success over Chinese Taipei in 1991.


Alex Morgan opened the scoring after 12 minutes and scored another four goals before the final whistle.

Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis also scored twice respectively with Lindsey Horan, Megan Rapinoe, Mallory Pugh and Carli Lloyd also on the score sheet as they set a new record winning margin in World Cup competition.


“We really just came into the game really wanting to showcase ourselves,” Morgan said after the game. “Every goal matters in this tournament and that’s what we were working on.”


O’Hara added: “It is a tournament – goal differential matters. At the end of the day, we can’t feel bad for scoring as many goals as possible in any game you’re playing.”

Why we’ve not released any result yet, JAMB says, as 1.2m candidates sit UTME so far .The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has not released any result relating to the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. It said this was because the Board was still screening the results due to certain issues surrounding the examination. The exam body said that, so far, over 1.2 million candidates have written the 2019 UTME. It also said it would ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the examination. The Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Bwari. He said that as of April 13, over 1.2 million have successfully written the examination scheduled to end April 17. Breaking: Sen. Ademola Adeleke loses as Supreme Court upholds Oyetola as Osun state governor

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Gboyega Adetola as the governor elect of Osun state. PDP candidate in the election, Ademola Adeleke, an Uncle of singer Davido, was dissatisfied with the result announced by INEC after the election which held in September 2018 and filed a petition at the tribunal. The tribunal in a ruling delivered in March, declared Adeleke winner of the election in March. Gboyega appealed the verdict at the Court of Appeal In May, the appeal court gave judgement in favour of the APC candidate.  Adeleke then filed an appeal at the Supreme court. Delivering judgement this morning, five of the seven judges on the panel were in favour of Oyetola, leaving Adeleke with just two.
